Vacation in Cuba

My dear friend Jeff is on a continuing mission to travel to all the ends of the earth.  He’s just returned from Cuba and sent me these photos from the Colon Cemetery in Havana.  With his permission, I share them with you.

You can see Jeff’s photos of his trip to Croatia and Bosnia here.

  1. The Cuba photos were fantastic – especially the figure carved on a door way. I spotted the impressive sculpture of the pelican feeding her young by pecking at her breast. They’re all so big as well.

Thank you for sharing these images. I am always impressed with the way Cubans keep up their heritage cemeteries and they’re supposed to be a “poor” nation. Here in Panama the cemeteries are terribly abandoned places, often taken for garbage dump sites and targets of visitors who are looking to satisfy their occult practices. It was refreshing to see how people still honor and respect their ancestors in these lovely pictures.
